Meet the Executive Council
2025- 2026
Mya Tsai
President
4th year Wood Products Processing student
One aspect I truly appreciate about being in forestry is the highly engaged community and the diverse range of individuals, each bringing unique talents and perspectives to the field. An interesting thing about me is that I own a horse named Monclère who lives about 10 mins away from campus. I’m especially excited to lead the executive team this year and to help plan meaningful initiatives and events that will benefit all students.
Sarah Mackay
VP Internal
My name is Sarah Mackay and I’m in my third year of the bachelors of science in natural resources conservation program! I love forestry because of our tight knit community and all of the opportunities the programs have to offer. A little fun fact about myself is that I’m the third generation in my family to get an undergraduate degree in forestry! As VP Internal this year I’m looking forward to keeping our much needed pantry stocked, and give the FUS lounge some updates!!
Emma Zhong
VP Administration
I am currently in my third year of studying Forest Operations. One of my favorite things about Forestry is the amazing community and the opportunity to learn outdoors. An interesting fact about me is that my family and I have rescued two dogs and a cat. As Vice President of Administration, I am excited to keep things organized and provide support for our events.
Grace Nesmith
VP Media
Hi! I am a 4th year studying Natural Resource Conservation. I am constantly inspired by the diverse passions in Forestry, and love listening to and sharing my own niche interests with other curious people. I am interested in fire ecology, so if anyone would like to talk about fire, feel free to reach out to me! As VP of Media, I am stoked to make FUS events accessible and engaging!
Alex Zheng
VP Finance
Hi I’m, a third year in Bio-economy Science Technology. It’s a huge pleasure to be in this faculty as the community and faculty support is amazing. I’m a huge fan of attempting new things, type 3 fun is great. Going into the new school year I’m excited for potential new fire merch and more cross faculty activities.
Nick Kolesnikow
VP Student Life
My name is Nicolas Kolesnikow, but around the faculty, I'm better known by the name Shaggy. Throughout my 4 years as a Forest Resource Management student, I've learned every corner of the FSC, every shortcut between classes, and even the emptiest classrooms to check when the atrium is overrun with Sauder students. It is this understanding of both people and place that I bring to the table as one of the VP Student Lifes for 2025-2026. As the year progresses, I look forward to hosting events guided by an excellent understanding of the resources we have at our disposal and the wants of our undergraduates to build spaces where our community can celebrate what makes us so unique.
Yohani Weheragama
VP Academic
2nd year Conservation (intended major)
It has been a joy to become a part of the wonderful community in the Faculty of Forestry and meet so many like-minded, nature-loving people. In my spare time, I can be found taking plant photos or rewatching my favourite shows. Fun fact, I once took over 3000 screenshots of Avatar just because I liked the characters! This upcoming year, I look forward to building more academic supports for our students.
Dylan Evans
Student Senator
I’m Dylan, a 4th-year Natural Resources Conservation student. As the current Forestry Senator, I plan to get more wins for Forestry students. As a past FUS President, I know how to get wins for Forestry students and hope to help the current team as much as possible so that this year is the biggest year yet.
